HELP!!!!!!!

I have a dsr6k with bad sat input it was working fine and then refused to find any transponders above 6 on either input.

1-6 appear to have full signal levels.

The cables and lnb are fine, I have another unit that works fine.

Anyway, I screwed up and did not make my own backup before useing extreme2.5 - because I got the image from ftp.abs.net.

The 2drive image says it is too large to restore to my 30gb and I need to restore to 2.01 to send it in for repair.

If anyone has another backup or any ideas - please help me:)

I had the same problem. Never did get it fixed. Someone let me know if there is a solution.

when you restore your image, specify the size of the var partition and take it down a few mb from default until it works.

I found a solution! I restored the backup to a 60gb drive and got a 43gb image.

Then I backed it up with the -v -s -6 -o options

-v = tells it NOT to backup /var
-s = divorces the 2 drive image (shrinking it as small as possible)
-6 = tells it to compress it
-o = tells it to output to a file

I then restored my new backup to my 30gb. This WORKS!
It will rebuild the /var on bootup.
I blessed my 15gb drive and added it back in.
I now have a working v2.0 2 drive system.

Kraven - Thanks for the advice about shrinking /var but mfstools just complains that /var is a different size than the backup says it should be.

Somebody should change the 2 drive backup on ftp.abs.net since it appears to be unable to restore to all 30gb drives. ( maybe they are off by a few bytes?)

I have my backup without /var should I upload it?

Thanks
