Wanted to get people's thoughts on ESI's newest release, the first of many exclusive TIVO devices.

Check the URL in my Profile and drop me an email if you have any questions.

Still updateing the Tech Specs at this time, but there is enough on there to give you an idea...

I hope Nick sues the s**t out of you. You've been a parasite in A.D.H. for far to long, and now you want to start raping the Tivo community. Go back to your cave.

i am curious as to whether your goal was to sell the turbonet-type clone, the software, or the whole package together.

if it was just the turbonet clone, i gotta say you have an uphill battle.

if its the software, and the software is actually innovative (not just a compilation of the hacks on here and AVS), then good for you. its good to see innovations with the tivo. now, it the software is the goal, why not provide it without the tivo-linq board, since many people already have a tivonet or turbonet board.

if the goal is both together, thats cool. just trying to see where you stand on the issue.

Hay MB...

Let me clarify... The TiVoLinQ is a "clone" only insofar as it serves the same function. It is a new design that is quite a bit different then anything else on the market.

I am contemplating things re: the software. Yes, the software is new in design and not just a compilation of existing hardware hacks. I am considering giving it away for free (just charging a small media/labor fee + shipping). Since it is LINUX OPEN SOURCE, I am not comfortable with selling it outright.

Obviously I would like to sell both togther and that would be a better deal for everyone, as the software is designed to work WITH the TL itself.
