Ok here is my idea I know that emu is not talked about but, here this out. Ok we all know that emu setups and directivo's tend to lock up requiring the card to be pulled emu rebooted and card re inserted. Well this is an easy task but when you have a rack of av equipment that serve's the whole house it sucks to have to get out of bed to do this task because it never fails to do this @ night.
Ok can this be done to help automate this problem. Make the par. port on the emu have voltage triggered to pins after pitou is running. (Pitou beeps after it is running so I figure it could make the par. port do this also) Those pins power a reed relay that inturns open and closes the card switch. I know it will require a little modification but hey my warranty on this puppy is long gone :)
I am not for sure how to make this work software but hardware it shouldn't be a problem as long as you know what pins on the par. port to use. Much easier to ssh into the emu and reboot then too have to getup and reach behind the rack and grope the tivo @ night to try and get some tv :)
Thanks
Jason
