I am trying to convert a Dish Network dish for use with the DSR6000. The dish has a dual lnb and I do get signal but it does not come in strong on all transponders.

Also, I tried using a multiswitch with the same problem. I would get signal only on random transponders.

Is there a compatibility issue with the dish network dish and the DTivo?

Thanks

I've interchanged dish and dave parts for years with no problems, I don't believe you'll get all the transponders, just the one's that are for your area.

ark is right. You wont get all the transponders because of the Spot Beaming...

I read on TivoCommunity that some of the transponders may not come in due to the spot beam. It's a friend’s DTivo which has the problem. My own DTivo uses a DTV dish and a multiswitch. With his the multiswitch doesn't work at all, and the with just the cable the signal is spotty. I've checked the dish position and rotation several times. I just wasn't sure if there was a know problem using Dish's dish.

DISH & DTV dishes & LNB's are fully interchangeable.
Same format...same system. The Multiswitches however are NOT interchangeable.

This is probably your problem.

Ok - that answers my question. I had assumed there was a problem with the dish but it is the multiswitch. I'll just replace the dish with a DTV dish.

Thanks for the quick replies.
