After days of trying to figure out how to get the IR cable to work the VCR I finally found a page that refers to this connector as future expanse. Is there anything out there that anyone is aware of that will setup the IR connector to function.

It can be used by the Sony Sat-60 to control Sony branded VCR's.

There is also a script you can run on to the philips 25xtreme to enable the same functions as the Sat-60 but once again only for Sony branded VCR's.
