I recently purchased a Sony T60 and after much reading decided to perform a HDD upgrade on the unit by replacing the existing 40GB HDD with a Maxtor 5400rpm 120GB HDD. (I wanted to keep the 40GB for a backup)

After trying two different versions of the Extreme25 for the T60, I get the same results: The unit reboots every 3-4 minutes after staying at the Wecome: Powering Up screen.

I have checked and double checked the jumber settings and reseated the IDE cable several times but I get the same thing. I am able to place the original drive back into the T60 and it will bootup properly.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Got the issue resolved. It was a bad hard drive. Swapped out drives and 30 minutes later I was watching TiVo.

I am having same problem with a t-60. continuous reboot loop. Once it gave me a screen saying that it was upgrading software from tivo but then went back into loop. Have a 80gig on order but am trying with a 30gig. was a 40in the unit, does this matter?
I tried once with and once without using tivomad. with tivomad gave me the update screen.

Thanks

Not positive, but I think you'll need at least a 40GB drive.
