hi, I was just talking to a friend and he told me that he heard that
replay&tivo got a court order to track the types of shows transfered by their ethernet interfaces(replay got it first due to the new models) seems the motion picture industry wants to collect data about what kinds of propriarty shows are swaped
between users.,

just thougth I would let you guys know

Actually, it's just SonicBlue that has the court order.

SonicBlue is ordered to track everyone's (by ID number, not name) use of the "Send show" feature, as well as the "30 second skip" feature. And, it's only to users of a ReplayTV 4k, not the older ones.

TiVo doesn't have that because a regular TiVo doesn't allow you to do either except through "secret commands". (Not that TiVo could know... the command to turn on 30 second skip would occur once, then it's just the jump button that gets logged... but the jump button can be used for other functionas well, so...).
