I am tring to backup a 60 hr drive but I only have a 20gb drive with windows on it. What do I need to type to backup the image on my c: drive. I have original tivo drive hooked up to secondary master and c: hooked up to the primary master.
I tried mfstool Backup -s -o /mnt/TiVo.bak /dev/hdc
It scanned source drive at 57 hours
Backup image will be 57 hours
uncompressed backup size: 816 mb
Backup failed: /mnt/TiVo.bak: Success
Can someone get me through this?

First you are going to have to mount the c: drive
should be 'mount /dev/hda1 /mnt' assuming DOS is partion 1 of the primary master ide connection.
If that works you should be able to do 'ls /mnt/*' and see the contents of your c drive.
The '/dev' entry on the mfstool line is the path to the tivo drive.

Detailed instructions are here. The answer to your question begins around '7)'. I can't give you a 1 line answer because I don't know how your system is configured. There are many things that could be preventing your backup. (drive may be locked, jumpers may be set wrong, etc...)
Byall accounts hinsdale has done a far better job of trying to explain things than I can. I did modify my origional mount instructions which had reflected a lack of sleep.
