View Full Version : 2.5 Xtreme Boot CD
05-14-2002, 08:55 AM
I have downloaded "t60_25xtreme.iso" and used Easy CD Creator to burn the ISO.
I can't seem to boot from the resulting CD.
I have set the bios to boot from the cd drive and I have been able to boot from other CDs.
Thanks in advance.

You want to create a CD from an image file. Not sure where it is with your software but with Nero it's create a cd, format is other.

If you use EZ CD creator, you should have an option of something like "Create Bootable CD". I could be way off here, but I know that i had the exact same problem that you did, and it was resolved when I burned the CD differently. Also, try burning it at a slower speed.

Pretty sure it's under the File menu in EZCD.

You want to create a CD from an image file. With most software creating a bootable CD creates a DOS (Windows) CD so you can run utilities and the like.
The image file automatically puts the necessary linex boot files on the CD.
IN MOST CASES YOU DON'T WANT TO SELECT THE OPTION TO CREATE A BOOTABLE CD.

Sorry! Newbie's right. The first time I read his post, I didn't understand what he was talking about. But, now I DO recall that "Create a CD from an Image File" sounds right. Instead of just "Creating a CD" or draging and dropping files and burning, you need to find the option for "Create from image file".
Sorry if I mislead anyone.

Thanks for all your suggestions,
Burning the CD again at 1x did the trick.
It boots into Linux as it should.
