I've just run into what seems to be a common problem seen by others:
DSR6K with single 40GB Quantum upgraded with 25Xtreme (unit works great). Snagged a new Maxtor
120GB drive, ran BlessTivo with no problems but
recording time still shows only 35 hours. Original drive is jumpered as master and new B is set to slave.
Need help with a few questions:
a) I've read in some other threads that you must pull out the A drive and plugged into the IDE cable at the time when you bless a new B drive. Is this true? (didn't see anything in the Hinsdale FAQ about this)
b) If this is the case then how do you 'unbless' a drive? (I've read that you can only bless a drive once)
c) I have also read some other postings which claim that with the newer ATAPI drives you must
use one of the UDMA 100/133 IDE cables (80 wire) instead of the older 40 wire IDE cable that came with the unit. Any truth to this rumor?
Thanks in advance for the help.
