Does the IR port on your TIVO work?

I just noticed I have one,along with the IR cable. I hooked it up and no go.
Looked at the manual and it says for future expansion.

on a stand alone tivo, the ir port on the back is used to control cable boxes and such. on a dtivo, it does nothing

I have the Sony T60 (a DirecTIVO receiver NOT the standalone) and it has an IR miniplug in the back. Mine is for use with a VCR to record off shows onto a Sony brand only VCR. The IR plug that goes into this port has a sending unit that attaches under your VCR and transmits IR signals to your VCR. Pretty nice little feature......if you have a Sony VCR.
