I am having a problem with TMPGenc. I am encoding the .m2a and .m2v file into VCD. This usually takes 1.5 hours. However, I started the m2vconf.exe file and changed the configuration to include MMX and SSE under the SMID box. After doing that it takes 3.5 hours to encode. I have switched the setting in the m2vconf.exe file back and now it is still takes 3.5 hours to encode. I have also deleted the TMPGenc software and reinstalled itt and still am having the same results. Is there a way to optimize this program? Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm running windows xp with P4 1.8a processor.

Thanks!

Hey!
Have you tried running the .m2v file through DVD2AVI first? It speeds-up TMPGEnc considerable when you're looking through the show for commercials, perhaps it will speed-up processing, too.

Execute DVD2AVI. Load the .m2v file. Execute File-->Save Project, choosing a filename extension of .d2v, In TMPGEnc, select the .d2v file for the video.

Also, in TMPGEnc look in Option->Environment Settings->VFAPI plugin. See it all 8 plugins are there (hard to make them go away, really), and "Direct show" is priority -1, and AVI VFW compat is -2, all the rest, 0.

Let us know how it goes.
