New sony T60 What Can be done?

Sony t60 arrived today. What can be done to this modle? What hds do I need to buy? what reading do I need to Do, Is there a sony guide? I have neaver done a tivo so I am Just getting started I would Like to get some good advice form someone here as this is the best site I have found for this, Thank You Dane

Yes it a standalone unit I dont know much about it yet is this the right unit to have or is there a better one?

bless your heart, the Sony T60 has a directv receiver built into the unit. It's commonly refered to as a "dtivo" unit.

the Sony SVR-2000 is Sony's "standalone" unit. It's commonly refered to as a "sa" unit.

...although, some online retailers consider the dtivo units as standalone since you don't need to add another receiver to it. around here it's called a "dtivo".

oh yeah, the t60 is just fine. other than the background screens and the remote codes, all dtivo's are the same on the inside. ...just different cases and remotes.

Thanks for the reply. Now for the more important questions. It came with a card hu 5b do I use this card with the bin in extreem 25, or do i need a valid of my own. I am Haveing a friend who knows more about building cables and /sitches than me help he. wont post because he dose not know where or how. I am very green at tivo. But I understand basic card programing and have all the right tools. What hd do you recomend? is there 2 in here t60? Thanks Dane

There is no bin in Xtreme, that's not its purpose. And we don't really get into those sorts of things here. There are plenty of other sites that cover "test cards".
