hi, i recently re-xtremed my drive -reason being was the tivo was no longer downloading nightly
and i wanted to get the 2.52 update, its been running for a week now and no update
now, i`ve been reading that this update comes through a phone call and not through the stream
so.....
heres what i have done to my drive:
extremed , subtest , noppv sc.tcl

what will i have to do here , just to get it to dial in for real and grab the update?

i`ll also note that i`m in canada , so obviously , its not a legit account

one other time i was told to just delete subtest ,and the it would dial in -but when i triedthat at the time -it dialed in for real , but i got a msg saying my account was never setup -and of course wouldn`t download anything until i setup my account

thanx

1. dont use the tweaked rc.sysinit
2. uncomment the update line in sc.tcl and run it again. Should pick it up in the next few days or so

i`ve actually not been using the tweaked rc.sysinit -only the one that came with xtreme

i went and delted subtest ,and its in the middle of a call right now ,downloading -i`m assuming its either the update

now heres a question.........
am i going to loose bash for sure with this update?

if so what do i do to get it back?

will it matter if i edit any changes to the rc.sysinit ( for bash reasons) from bash - just before i do the restart that will put the 2.52 software in place?
or does the rc.sysinit get changed while its rebooting and installing the new software

i hope theres not too many changes i have todo while the drives are in the pc , i hate doing it in the pc lol

also , does this info help to where i need to go to edit from pc?

when i do a "mount" it says this:
/ dev / hda4 on / type ext2 (ro)
/ dev / hda4 on / var type ext2 (rw)
/proc on /proc type proc (rw)
