Ok, I'm going to start looking through posts but I'm throwing this out now, for any and all HELP!!!!!!!!!
I was working on my tivo Philips 212, with a Quantum 20GB original, and a Blessed 80GB Maxtor.
Pulled the 20GB out, plugged it into a PC to do some work, after QUNLOCK'ing the drive rebooted and flames, sparks and a lots of smoke came pouring off the drive. IT went through 2 reboots fine and the 3rd reboot with no cable changes cooked it, I think it slipped and grounded out on the case.
Well it's sitting on the desk, I *sighed* and went to bed.
So: I have a 2nd tivo bought at the same time same model 212, with a 20GB drive never opened or mod'd.
Is it easy and legit to clone the A Drive from that to a new drive and pop it back in the other Tivo. And more importantyl....
Can I recover any recorded shows on the 80GB Maxtor.
I had 50 shows of Farscape on there.
My wife was upset about the loss of Farscape more than the drive or my singed fingers. 8-(
I am off to read doc's now on this but like I said, I'm throwing this out for help anyways.
TIA
