Hi. Wanted to tell you about this site, through which I got 4.7 cents/min direct dial long distance with $2 monthly fees ($0 if credit card payment) and no hidden costs. The calls are carried on the MCI network, and offer MCI-equivalent/better International rates for just $3 Intl calling monthly fees.
The site uses its consumer pool (concept similar to Mercata's online shopping pools) to negotiate cheaper LD rates from larger companies. As more people sign up for the site, AND join the buying pool (joining does not obligate you to try their services), depending on your location within the US, rates for gas and other utilities may be similarly "reduced/negotiated". I recommend the telephone pool initially...and if you like the offer there, your service will be switched only AFTER you specifically order it.
