View Full Version : AC3 codec for TMPGEnc?

I just set up a new system, and am having problems bringing AC3 audio into TMPGEnc (I get the error message that the file cannot open, or is unsupported. This .m2a file also won't play in Media Player.

I can't for the life of me remember which codec I'd loaded on my other machine (on which, TMPGEnc and Media Player read the same file fine).

I thought Xmuxer had installed the codec, but was wrong. Maybe PowerDVD, but I'd hate to keep installing programs I no longer use for TMPGEnc to work the way I'd like...

Anyone know what I'm missing?

Thanks!

rename the .m2a or .mp2 file to .ac3 and then import it...it will then handle it

Thanks for the suggestion, but just renaming the file doesn't work. TMPGEnc doesn't care about the file extension.

Anyway, turns out that installing PowerDVD took care of it.
