I have been Dtivoing happily for many months on my DSR6000 and I just ordered another one for the bedroom. I recall that the first time setup was a major pain in my a## -- no doubt because I had no idea what I was doing and had to harass you all to no end.

My inclination is that I could just remove the hard drives from my working DTivo and Ghost copy each of the drives and restore them onto new hard drives, install them in my new DTivo (smae model exactly) and voila! It should work! Am I wrong?

Also, in the current working DTivo I have the original hard drive plus a 60 GB that I added. Could I buy two new 120GB drives and Ghost the hda and hdb images to each respectively and they would just work? Or does the Tivo/25Xtreme have some setting that would only think the new drives were the same size as the old drives?

You guys rock, by the way!

Thanks in advance.

Ghost won't work on TiVo drives. You could use mfstool utility and copy the drives. However you will get error #51 when you install in a different DTiVo and will need to do a Clear and Delete Everything (from System Reset menu). This will clear the error but you will also lose any recordings, season passes, etc. and force you to go through guided setup. v25xtreme is your best option, it should be easy after you've done it once.
