I have a DSR6K that is upgraded with 25xtreme. It currently has two 40-gig HDs in it, one of which (obviously) I added myself. What would the procedure be to swap one of the 40 gigs out for an 80 gig HD that I just got this week? Is it possible to do without losing recordings, etc.? Any help would be appreciated.

Check the How-To's Only thread and go to the latest postings at the end of the thread. Find the appropriate link in the lists and get yourself a copy of MFSTools 2.0 and the latest Hinsdale's How To. I believe the answers you're looking for can be found there.

It is easy to use MFS2.0 to replace the 40 gig B drive with an 80 gig drive and keep your recordings. I do not know anyone who has successfully replaced the extremed A drive from this two drive setup and kept the earlier recordings. So just replace the B drive and you will be fine. HTH

Guys, thanks for the advice, I followed the steps in the Hinsdale's How-To, seemed to work fine, no error messages or anything, but when I plugged Tivo back in, it would get to the "just a few more seconds" screen after the "welcome, powering up" and then reboot. I was going to wait and get advice from you all, but that was Friday afternoon and no internet until Monday, so as you can all probably guess I just reinstalled xtreme. Instant gratification won out over preserving recordings without even a fight (sigh). Anyway, everything is good now and it should take me at least a couple days to fill up 120 gigs....;)

I think if you dd the b drive to your newer 80gig drive and then used mfsadd -x instead of TiVomad as hinsdale suggests you would've been able to preserve your recordings.
