View Full Version : Why doesn't -l work in my vsplit?

I'm trying to edit around a chunk of bad data in a .ty file. I'm using the dos version of vsplit to try to limit how many chunks are being processed. It seems like a no-brainer. The -l option allows you to tell it how many chunks to stop after.

However, vsplit seems to totaly ignore this. I have sucessfully used the -j option to jump into the file a bit.

So I gave up and tried using the built in vsplit in TyTool5 to accomplish the same thing. It fails the same way vsplit does.

Some data...
The DOS vsplit says:
Version: jdiner 2.01 Alpha #13

I am splitting SA streams exclusively.

I am running windows XP pro on a NTFS partition.

Anyone have any ideas?

*bump*

Really, am I the only one? Anyone else with an SA having the same problem?

Yes, I can use tysplit to fix this problem but I'm really more curious if the -l option for vsplit works for anyone else.

I've seen reference to it working in messages here and I'm just trying to nail down if this is a bug specific to SA streams or if its something about my set up.

Does it work for you?

Are you working with SA streams or DTivo?

Do you use vsplit to do the above, or do you also use tysplit?

I like your approach. Do you use dos or linux to automate this procedure?

As for the .ty files... I do have about 15 episodes saved off to HD in raw .ty format. With DVD's getting so cheap I might park them on DVD-R data disks.

-Thanks

For anyone curious, that turned out to be the answer I was looking for.

If you use a value of less then 11 for -l, it appears to not work at all.
