I just used 25Xtreme and upgraded my Hughes GXCEBOT and noticed that the System Information reads Manufacturer Brand: Philips, IRD Model: DSR6000.
Is there a way to change the Manufacturer Brand to Hughes and IRD Model to GXCEBOT? Or was I suppose to use another version of 25Xtreme for the Hughes.
All I could find is the 25Xtreme for the Philips DSR6000.
Thanks for your help...
Hughes is the same as Philips. Sony is different.

So you are telling me that if I turn on a brand new Hughes GXCEBOT TiVo and go to the System Information it will read Manufacturer Brand: Philips, IRD Model: DSR6000.
I thought the System Information for a Hughes GXCEBOT TiVo would display the Manufacturer Brand: Hughes and IRD Model: GXCEBOT?
Since I used the 25Xtreme for the Philips DSR6000, I want to change the System Information for my Hughes GXCEBOT TiVo to: Manufacturer Brand: Hughes and IRD Model: GXCEBOT?
Thanks for your help...

Well.... since the Phillips image works on multiple receivers, it may not have been worth the effort to make multiple images. Maybe someone has an image specifically tailored for the Hughes, but I haven't seen one.
I understand what you want, but is it really worth the trouble?

I just thought it was silly to have the Philips System Information on a Hughes Tivo after installing the 25Xtreme Hack.
If anyone knows of a way to edit the System Information to change the Manufacturer Brand name and IRD Model name I would appreciate it.
Thanks...
The reason it say Philips is because the image installed is from a Philips receiver, it works the same as the Hughes, the only diff I can tell is the system information (as you are saying) and when boots it shows a philips logo.
I don't know how to remove the logo or edit the info without reinstalling. If you want to reinstall you'll need:
- hughes 2.0 backup image (mfstools and other tools)
- information on hacking 2.0 to access the disk
- tivolater (this will upgrade your 2.0 to 2.5.1)
In few words you install hughes 2.0 image, hack it and put tivolater there, put back drive in tivo, but with 2.0 image, get access with bash and run tivolater (the tivolater info is a must read), after some time and reboots you will have a hughes 2.5.1 drive working, then install the xtreme upgrade/enhance or any other hack you want.
All files and links needed I beleive exists in the sticky notes in top of this forum.
I already did this. Was it worth the work, no. Did I learn something, a lot.
