I have seen several posts regarding the using of mfsadd to bless a second drive:

http://dealdatabase.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16495

Shoot I can not find the other post...

Anyways, I had the same problem described in the post. I had a 100g A drive and I tried to bless a 120g B drive using the command:

mfstool mfsadd -x /dev/hdc /dev/hdd

Everything went fine, but I would get a continuous reboot loop from "Almost There". I ended up havving to restore my 135meg backup and then use maddtb4 to expand the drives. It was really weird.

So... My question is if anyone has had success using mfsadd to expand to a second drive.

I also had the exact same problem, eventually I just started over with 25xtreme and lost all my recordings, etc. Not really sure why it never worked, I followed the directions from the Hinsdale How-To to the letter, but to no avail.

I had no problems with adding a 80 gig second drive to the 40 gig Xtreme'd drive.
I used this command:

mfstool mfsadd -x /dev/hdc /dev/hdd

I started to follow the backup directions in Hinsdale's How-to but figured I'd just re-xtreme if the upgrade failed.

My recordings and settings were all fine. The upgrade took less than five minutes. Blessing the drive took seconds.

You do have to make sure you know where the CD is mounted and the Primary and Secondary drives are mounted. I had trouble with this initially but my second go round worked great.
