tivoapp mods, a new level of hacking?

This is not for the DTiVo yet and is the first public tivoapp mod I've seen. Maybe there are others, but I've not seen any. Hope to see more as these types of hacks would provide practically no limit to what we could do. Anybody got tivoapp source?

source isnt publically available, but i agree that there is great potential here. we know its in linux elf format, and we know its compiled for the ppc. that should be enough to start dissassembling it. Once we have done that, its just a matter of figuring out what does what, and then modding what we want.

Currently, there are two hacks. one is the backdoor, and i don't remember the other. both were by the same person. One aspect of this would be to determine what limits are imposed by tivoapp, and what are composed by other parts of the tivo setup.

it WOULD be pretty sweet to find the equivalent for 2.5.x tivoapp... (to permanently enable backdoors, that is)
