View Full Version : Defeating the evil Temporal References

The problem that plagues me the most is the Temporal References issue when I try to import my video into Spruce.

Sometimes it's simplest re-recording the broadcast at a later date, but in some cases there's no additional broadcast scheduled.

I've tried various tricks to re-encode or transcode the video but nothing seems to work for me. Usually I end up with a clip that's significantly shorter than it's supposed to be.

Does anyone have a favourite method that they'd like to share?

JDiner: Is this FITNR (fixed in the next release)?

I too run into this - hope someone knows of a workaround.

Actually, I think it might be. I know what causes it. And in "most cases" it has been resolved. :)

In some cases there is nothing obvious to be done. These also occur when there is a hole in the data. When a hole occurs at present, all bets are off. There is always something that can be done. But it is pretty special case and so nothing but a quick investigation has been done yet.

I can ship you a DVD of an example of this failure - all you have to do is say the word. I'm gonna try to transcode the file and see if I can get around it that way.
