Are there any differences in the motherboards from the original HDR112, HDR212, and the HDR312 (not talking about series 2 at all) when it comes to handling 160GB drives?

I understand there are some issues with the IDE controller for drives over 120GB, but is this specific to a particular model motherboard?

read about IDE controller here...

I'm 99.97% sure the only difference in the 3 models is the look of the cover and the size of the hard drive. The guts are the same.

(of course there is that 0.03% error rate...)

In any event the 160 will get you about 137 as opposed to the 120 only doing 120. THey work fine, many have done it.

So if the extra 17gigs is worth it to you go ahead and slap it in.

I have to dtivos and one SA with 160's in them and never had a problem.
