question about legalitys after upgrade

i have just upgraded my tivos hd....i have a lifetime sub!!!
so my question is can i plug the phone line in or do i have to find another route for my guide info??? i have a s/a unit ver1.3....
does tivo frown on hacks like this???

A Stand Alone Tivo has to call in to get guide data, it doesn't come down from the satellite like a DTivo.

Enlarged drives don't cause any problems with Tivo service, so if you have a real lifetime sub, no worries.
