How can I modify it if it is read only? I booted to linux with Kazymyr boot disk. Am I doing something wrong? I need to add the runideturbo=false line to rc.sysinit to get my new drive to boot. Please help!

I believe if you use the command chattr -i rc.sysinit that you will unlock the permissions set on the file. Make sure you've navigated to the directory that contains the rc.sysinit file first (cd /etc/rc.d & Enter). Then, do a chmod 777 rc.sysinit to open up all permissions (this may not be necessary so try to edit it first without doing it). Go ahead and edit it using joe or vi. Save and exit the file by using Ctrl+k and x (not sure if its upper or lower case but I think its lower if I remember correctly; it will indicate if the file has been saved or not so you'll know for sure). I'm no Linux expert by a long shot so do a search on the chattr & chmod commands before you use them to make sure you've got the correct syntax.
