I can downlooad tystreams with tytool5 but I would like to do it from tivoweb.
I tried two programs - mfsstream and mfs_extract_tivoweb. I installed both programs according to instructions and both appear on the tivoweb menu.
When I select them, both appear to run perfectly but the programs in "now showing" don't show up.
The tivoweb user interface shows the programs. I am sure I missed some procedure somewhere, but I have gone back over all procedures since installing turbonet and I can't find anything I missed.
Could someone be so kind as to give me a clue as to what might be wrong?

I have not messed with it, but are you using the mfsstream3x.zip version? If not, maybe that's your problem...?

Yes I'm using the 3x version. I found my other problem. I had the file in /var/hack instead of /var/hack/tivoweb-tcl.
Now I see the programs on the menu. I was able to edit the program name and changed the name to "1". When I double click on the program name I get the following message from the browser:
"The page cannot be displayed"
The URL in the browser reads:
http://192.168.1.3:2000/143654912/.2F.var.2F.hack%20-s%201276279%20/1.ty
I have no Idea what this means. Anyone have any suggestions?

Durrence,
I am getting the same error message here as you are. I am not sure what it means but I am sure it is a newbie thing. I'm sure there is one thing that we are missing so if any others out there have a hint or maybe a direction they could send us in that would be great.

i haven't played with this method to extract ty files, BUT....
That URL you posted looks bad.
hhhh://192.168.1.3:2000/143654912/.2F.var.2F.hack%20-s%201276279%20/1.ty
I've removed the http:// so that you can see the text of the URL. It seems like it's looking for /var/hack/ -s 1276279 1/ty
looks to me that the program name is missing (After the /var/hack part). (Should it be mfsstream or something? Which files were installed into /var/hack anyway?
Hopefully this will mean something to someone looking at the html code.
If you want quit, and easy, use tytool.

Things to check:
I did not change "path/to/tyhttpd " in my rc.sysinit. After I changed that it still did not work. Then I ran the same line command and it worked. So the line of:
/var/hack/mfsstreamweb97/tyhttpd 2000 4 >> /dev/null &
would not work in my rc.sysinit but it would work if I ran it through the bash. Something is screwed up so I'll have to look further into that. Also make sure that the mfssstream.cfg file is pointing towards mfsstream's correct directory. You also need to make sure that you have chmod'd the tyhttpd and mfsstream files to 755. Other than that it should work well.
Note to all:
Why does the above line work when I run it on the bash but not when I run it in rc.sysinit.author? Everything else loads from rc.sysinit.author. Very odd?
Hope this helps,
Magik

mfs_extract_tivoweb was not compatible with tivo software v3. I've released an updated version (a little late =) ). You can get it here: http://www.fr0zen.com/users/snyder/
