ok so a friend of mine is trying to boot 25xtreme....he has a windowsxp operating system......he is disconnecting the windows hard drive, connecting his tivo A drive to the secondary IDE, and his cd drive to the primary IDE.....

Now when he turns the cpu on all he gets is the cursor in the upper left corner...Nothing else?......he tried to reburn the xtreme image but nothing seems to be working...any suggestions?

Make sure the drives are jumpered correctly, and check to see if the BIOS is set to boot off the CD.

Made sure the bios was able to boot from cd....

now the jumpers do not matter this I know...the program itself should still be able to boot up no matter which jumper it is on....

that was trial and error myself.....Any ideas....????

Huh?? Jumpers on the hard drive and CD themselves ABSOLUTELY matter.

To prove your system boots off a CD, try popping in a Windows NT, XP, 2K CD. They are all bootable.

I loaded xtreme and my jumpers were set to slave on the hard drive and it still loaded, except for when I went to choose which device in xtreme (secondary master, secondary slave, etc..)
..Here I had to choose right out of the 3 or it would not load, but it did boot up......that is what I meant.....

I will ask him to boot a cd and see what happens....
