I recently installed Tivoweb and would love to know if there is a script which, when called, will show me what is currently playing on my tv screen. It can be either live TV or something recorded. Is there anything out there yet that can do that?

Hi Buenoguy,

You don't need a script for that. Look under "Screen" menu on TivoWeb :)

The Screen mode shows you the text that TiVo is showing on the current screen, but it doesn't show you any video at all.

Its meant to be a way to navigate the menus in the native TiVo format.

Sorry, I should have been more correct.

I have Tivoweb installed, and am very familiar with the Screen menu.

What I really should have said is that I want to get the name of the show currently playing on ANY webpage that I have (i.e. my diary website, my homepage, etc.).

For now, I've done a workaround. You can see it at http://buenoguy.diaryland.com. Basically, I just parsed the Screen menu to give me what's between the two <h1></h1> tags.

Thanks for your replies.

You should check out http://www.hitormiss.org/tivo/

Looks like he is doing something similar to what you want to do.

I have two scripts that I've created for just displaying on my web site. I run PHPNuke and I have a block that shows what is currently live on my tivo. I also have a module that displays, what is currently live and what is in "Now Showing".
