I ran the line in the How To Guide for mvchannels
./mvchannels.tcl -loop=0 -file=/var/hack/channels.dat
and it is now on loop 5, is this going to be an inifinite loop? Seems to slow the DirecTV and Tivo way down. Is this right, or will it stop eventuially.

I tried this forst after reading dozens of post, I have not tried selectlocals, I am a little unclear how to edit it for what I want/need.

I need the Orlando locals, but would love to be back with WPB, and Tampa like I had before. Any help appreciated.

If you're running this from a telnet session, mvchannels will run indefinitely in looping mode until you terminate the telnet connection. The program is designed to run in looping mode and must be done in this manner if you are trying to get the locals to show up in the 900's of the channel guide. If mvchannels is not run in a continuous looping mode, the locals will migrate back to the 0-99 range. If you need them in the 900s, the best way to accomplish this is to edit the rc.sysinit file to include the same command that you ran manually. Place it in the rc.sysinit file somewhere near the end of the file but before it says rc.sysinit is complete. If you are trying to display the locals in their normal channel designations in the 0-99's then you do not need to run mvchannels in looping mode. Make sure you've got the channels.dat file edited to display the channels in the correct location and you'll be OK.
