Hi Guys, is there a way to fix my tivo so that it will not make a daily call, without using bash. I'm running Xtreme 2.5 on a Sony and i tried using the fixup02c.tcl and it still wants to make a daily call, but the account status is a at 3. Is these something I can type or run while my HD's are in the pc, so that when I put the drives in my tivo I'm all set.

Thanks

Leave the phone disconnected and force a daily call. If you have 2.5Xtreme installed it should indicate a successful call even though it didn't connect.

no luck i tried reinstalling 2.5xtreme but when I connected the drives and tried to make a daily call, it came back with couldn't connected.

you need to TOUCH the unit by creating a file called /etc/SubTest

wait about 3-4 mins after power on before trying to get a bash prompt.

Thanks profo, but that was my question, and I guess that I need to get a bash cable and use a bash prompt, because there is no way to setup your tivo harddrive so that the tivo system will bypass the daily call, unless I use bash.

You should be able to get a bash prompt within 20-30 seconds after trhe DTivo is powered on.

1) Do a search, it's easy to make a serial cable or
2) Do a search, after you put the HD in Tivo (the reboot updates your software) you can remove the HD, put back in the PC and touch the necessary file.

Easier to make the cable.
