DTIVO rewind fastforward vs Standalone

On the Stand alone tivo if you pressed rewind while fast forwarding (any speed) it would autmatically go to Play or vice versa.

However on the dtivo with each button press it goes from ff2 to ff1 to play. I have a pronto and use the 2 buttons to go forward and reverse and prefered the way the Stand alone worked.

Is there a way to change this. I have seached the forums and only find info on changing the offset or speeds.

I think the Sony does what the stand alone does, I know the Phillips or Hughes does not, You must have a Phillips or Hughes.

on the sony t60, if you are in ff2, and you hit the left arrow it will go to ff1 not play..

I guess this means that the sony is not like the standalones.

However, if you are in ff1, ff2, or ff3, you can simply hit "play" at any time to go straight to play mode, so I am not sure why you would want the left arrow to do the same thing???

Sorry I should of mentioned I have a Phillips.

I realize the play button will do what I need, but I am using a Pronto, a univeral remote. The Pronto has two buttons on the bottom that worked perfect for ff and rewind on the stand alone. Now I cant just hit rewind and immediatly go into play mode.

The main reason I ask is to improve my WAF (wife acceptance factor) she liked the stand alone and the touchscreen remote for ff and rewind, now she prefers to use the tivo remote. How am I ever going to get her to let me by the color pronto if she does not like the b/w one
