tydemux, request for tysteam samples ftp server is avalible, + sample prog

Hello Folks,

I'm in great need of tystream samples, both SA, SA seriers 2, UK tivo and Dtivo.

I have a ftp server ready for this purpose (it's a upload only). The server address is 66.121.15.35 and login is "tivo" with password "tivo".

In the attached sample.zip file you will find a special prog that takes 10 * 10MB samples of the tystream and puts that in a file that you can send me (both windows and linux binaries + source included).

Here is how to use it:
sample -i your_tystream -o sample_to_send.ty

If it's not to much to ask I would like to get some whole tystreams also from smaller recordings say (300 to 700MB once). However limit this to one whole stream per tivo you have. You can more or less send me unlimited number of samples but please take it easy and just send me a few so other tivo friends also get a chance to upload thier streams.

It would also be nice if you could follow a naming convention on the files you upload it's makes it so much easier for me.

Here is how I would like you to name the files:
example 1:
olaf_scatyahoo.com_dtivo_2.5.2_whole.ty

example 2:
olaf.scatyahoo.com_sativo2_3.0.1_whole.ty

example 3:
olaf.scatyahoo.com_sativo_3.0.1_whole.ty

example 3:
olaf.scatyahoo.com_sativo_3.0.1_UK_whole.ty


I.e. it's
email_tivotype_softwareversion_uk_whole/sample.ty

where tivotype is either: dtivo, sativo, sativo2 (Tivo series 2).

softwareversion is the tivo software revison you recodrd the steam under.

UK only add this if you have a UK tivo

I don't believe S2 video streams will be of any use yet, as they are no doubt scrambled. Couldn't hurt to find out for sure though.

In regards to SA 2 streams - yes that's what I kind of curious about. However I guess that they leared the lesson and it's not as easy to descrable it as just inserting a noscrable module.

Anyways it looks like I have a small problem with my pipe + shitty ftp server runing on my old win laptop.

I will shortly be back with a Unix server so stay tuned for changes in the IP address.

Lets hope this ftp server works better than my laptop - it's atleast a real server


New IP address is 66.121.15.34 it's a normal anon ftp server so just do a anon ftp as usall.

There is a special upload dir where you can put your ty streams.
