Well I'm trying to nail down what I need to do to get a bash prompt so I can install elseed and hopefully have callerid on my SAT-T60. I've installed extreme on a new 120 gig drive without a hitch. Once extreme is finished running through the setup my receiver works great, but doesn't have TIVO function until it calls in. So I have it call in and make a call and it downloads the upgrade to 2.5.2. Once it does this upgrade I don't have bash prompt any longer. I have a legit subscription and I don't want to mess around with touch or anything like that. Will this work to get my bash prompt back?
1. Backup the current drive at 2.5.2 with MFS Tools
2. Reinstall extreme on the drive and put it back in the receiver and let the TIVO setup up again.
3. Before having the TIVO make a call pull the drive back out of the receiver and install the image from step 1 back onto drive.

I've been looking at other methods and it seems like this is how they went about having the receiver at 2.5.2 and still have a bash prompt. I was told that when the TIVO updates itself to 2.5.2 via the phone it replaces some of the modifications that extreme does to enable the bash prompt. I'd like to use extreme because I already have it downloaded and it looks to be the easiest way to upgrade to a larger hard drive. If the above method won't work I guess I'll download a 2.0 backup and start from there as some of the other methods suggest.
Thanks-
Rick
