Hello everyone,

I am testing a Direct TV Tivo system with HU emulation and don't want to keep the phone line pluged in because I've heard Tivo monitors everything you watched.

At the same time, I've read that if the Tivo box doesn't make a call within 30 days, it will shut down.

I have purchased the lifetime subscription and still have a valid P4 card. I was thinking about removing my HU emu card and inserting my valid P4 card when I needed to make the daily, but don't know if that option is very safe.

Is there any way to disable the daily call in/service shutdown, without using 2.5 extreme?

I don't want to have to go that route unless there is no other solution possible.

Thanks in advance.

v25xtreme is what most do for running without a phone line. If you can get file access and bash another way, you could run fixup02c.tcl (aka fixsub) periodically to keep your sub active without the phone connection. For some creative ways to get file access without reflashing the prom (a la v25xtreme) see this ===> http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=80754
