A quick question for the other SA Tivo users. Once my tivo got fully upgraded recently, this appears to have been part of the 8000s moved to <100 on my Dish satelite receiver, I ran into something I really don't like.
There are now glitches in the recorded audio and video every so often. They don't seem to be tied to a specific event or channel and I have verified that they are in the playback but not in the dish stream itself. I.e. watch it from the reciever and all is fine. Watch it from the tivo at the same time (P in P is nice...) and they are there.
Anyone know what is causing this? It happened to my sisters Tivo as well at the same time. A serious drag...

I can only state that for EVERY upgrade I have experienced, and I forget exactly but as an "early adopter" my first SW version was in the ones somewhere (1.2? don't recall) anyway every upgrade has brought along w/it a few glitches in the days following the upgrade.
But then it has "settled-in" to glitch-free operation in a few days. I have always attributed this to the Tivo being busy w/housekeeping of some sort.
In any case I don't have a satellite feed, mine is a digital cable box w/S-Video output and analog audio of course, but I have NOT ever had any of the glitches that you have experienced. I wonder how recent was your upgrade?

Watching "Live TV" through the Sony SVR-2000, whenever there's a scene change, it looks like the TiVo is switching back and forth between the two different scenes, for maybe just a frame or two. On playback, this doesn't appear, and the audio never causes a problem, on either Live TV or playback.
It's only started happening since 3.0 came down a few months ago.

I had not really thought of when it was occuring. But it is definately there. Any very annoying. Since I am doing so much work with the DTivo I have the SA setup for where I actually watch tv... So it is just a pain to have the glitches.
Sometimes just backing up and replaying is enough to get rid of it and sometimes it is really in the stream as it is recorded. I.e. the problem.
I was just wondering how common it was or what it was related to.
