dtivo hard drive

can anyone tell me how to wipe the partitions on a hard drive removed from a dtivo to use it as a standard pc hd?
I have tried fdisk but wont get past the 2 gig partition
also tried druid and cfdisk.
Even tried to use debug and still no luck

Run a low-level format on the drive. Every drive manufacturer uses their own utilities for performing a low-level format. You should be able to download the one applicable to your drive from the manufacturer's website.
