Actily refused means the deamon is listning but it rejecting your packets. Since Tivo has no hosts.allow/hosts.deny and you most likly have not installed TCP wrappers this is probably cased by your network.

1) How are you networked to the Tivo, what is in between you and it?
2) What is the netmask you set on 192.168.1.5?
3) What is your Ip address you are connecting from? What is its netmask?

I am having the same problem.

My T60 is running 3.1 software. has a turbonet installed. It obtains a DHCP address from my DHCP server (10.0.0.241/255.255.255.0), and I can't telnet into it. This happened just after the update to 3.1 (yesterday). any ideas would be appreciated...

You've got to remember to re-apply your hacks every time your tivo takes a software upgrade.
