Upgrading SA to 3.0 with slice files?

What's involved in upgrading a SA Tivo from 2.5 to 3.0 via
the GZ*slice, utils*slice, and swsystem*slice files?

Is there more to it then dbloading all the slice files and
then running installSw.itcl?

is this simple like that?

I would have thought the slice files were for DirectTV's only. Live and learn.
