I decided to allow 2.5.2 on one of my systems, and this has prompted several questions.

1) When you run any of PGM's sc scripts, must you include all the groups, or can you just use the ones you want?

2) I've been running with all the standard logging disabled in rc.sysinit, and SZ's logsnull. Now I decided I want to let the logs run so I can monitor when/if the update arrives. Anyone know if myworld will write the info I need, or do I need to enable syslog again?

TIA

1) you just need to edit the groups list. you can include what you want, but it may have adverse consequences.

2) it depends on which log you want to look at. svclog and the log of the keys hit are created regardless of what happens in the rc.sysinit

Thanks Mr. B. I redit sc.tcl, commented out the parts of rc.sysinit that delete packages, and made the change in TClient to prevent the reboot after the upgrade. We'll see what happens overnight.

Well, no. My showcases are now working fine, but I don't even see 2.5.2 attempting to come down, so I'm not quite sure what's up.

Thanks PGM. Guess it doesn't make much sense for them to keep rolling out 2.5.2 if 3.x is almost set for mass distro.
