Connecting DSL to UTV

Any idea if this is possible?

Can you use a USB ethernet card?

What about this in reverse:

Is there a way to go from ethernet cable into the modem port on the back of the UTV and have it think it's dialed in?

Even if you get a slow modem speeds, I want to avoid having to dial up.

a setup similar to what used to be useful for the dreamcast might work for internet, but it wont replace the dtv dial in:
