I found a WD model WD1200BBRTL with avg seek time 8.9 ms, buffer size 2mb, data transfer rate up to 100 mb/s using ultra ata/100, at office max for $179. Before i open it, i want to confirm that this is the correct drive. Also do other manufacturers hd work as well, or only wd?

Thank you,

NJ

Why do you post each question you ask in multiple forums? There are lots of people willing to help you with reasonable questions, but they might not like the spam. Since you had lots of replies for this question over at avs, I will not repeat the answers again here.

i did not mean to make a big deal, was just asking why you were posting each question in multiple forums. various drives will work, but ones that don't support ata security won't. most people stick to the WD1200BB as it is known to work well in the utv receivers.
