Hi,

I am wondering how the TIVO quality of a let's say for example Pay-Per-View movie burned on a DVD+/-R is compared to an original DVD. I just got a Home Theater projector and experienced a big quality difference between my TIVO and DVD. The DVD is progressive and connected by a component cable in contrast to the TIVO, which is obviously interlaced and connected by the S-Video cable.

My DVD burner is still on the way, so I am wondering if I get a better picture, when I burn the movie onto the DVD and use the DVD player instead of playing with the TIVO.

Bye,

Thorsten.

DVD is better (720X480 resolution vs. 480X480 for DTivo). It is theoretically possible to get a better picture by displaying a TyDVD on a TV with progressive scan input using a progressive scan DVD player.

Plus almost nothing on television (PPV or premium channels) is displayed in widescreen format...

There are some PPV in widescreen, network shows in widescreen (CSI from CBS and Boomtown from NBC) and almost ALL HDTV shows are 16:9.
