3.1 w/P3?

So, I guess a legit 2.5 DTivo will not take the upgrade without the P4 installed. Has anyone tried to put a P3 in an already upgraded 3.1 DTivo? (Assuming the card was married to the receiver, of course, but we won't discuss that.) I am only interested in How a 3.1 DTivo mechanically would handle a P3.

Mechanically, the size, width and thickness is exactly the same. Only the colors are different. :o

ummmm, yeah....not exactly what I was looking for:) lol. I'm more interested in what is it about 3.1 that supposedly can only be accessed by a P4?

Not more can be said except begin looking at the boot299.btl file. No other advice is really given for the obvious reason that it could help individual hack DTV, and discussion regarding that topic is not allowed.
