Removinf Effects of Fixup etc...

Hey all.

I need to know this is a HURRY.

I need to remove all instances of anything that might be considered a "problem" for me.

My DTivo HAS to call in next week. (don't ask why)
I don't want to "start over", I want to keep all my recordings etc..

I have installed xtreme and Kraven
how do I eliminate Fixup and set the tivo back to monthly sub service? Also is there anything else I need to 'remove'

If it were me I would get a good copy of your DTivo models unmodded image and reapply it to a new hard drive. Sounds like maybe you didn't make a backup copy before applying extreme and Kravens upgrade??

Delete the touched file out of /etc and reboot. But....you might want to wipe all the files out of /var/log and /var/persist before you do.

If your unit has nopt called in in a long time, you may also want to make sure the you must call in nag is again present before it does so this time. It may raise some alarm bells if it thinks it is lifetime and it ALSO thinks it called in just last night.

You know what, if I were you I would go get a 30 or 40 gig gig drive at CompUSA, virginize it, non-Extremed of course. Make sure the drive is the same size as the factory one!

I'd set my old drive aside for extraction later...

Then again, I am paranoid about having some corporation rooting around in my Tivo!
