I am trying to get my dsr6000 to take the 3.1 upgrade that I previously tried to block until I had all the content off it that I needed, and now the log says this:

Jan 6 16:56:30 (none) syslogd 1.3-3: restart

but the tivo hasn't rebooted in 6 days.

I added upgradesoftware=false to the rc.sysinit and set install 0 to TClient-lib.itcl to block the upgrade, but I have since removed them once I saw that message in the log.

Any idea why my box won't reboot? I rebooted from the cli but there was no software install.

They are doing rolling distribution of 3.1. Maybe they figure your block of ID's has already gotten it and moved on. Might have to wait until it's in GA.

So why does the tivo keep logging a "restart" command every day? Is there some place to look for the 3.1 files in the filesystem to see if they have been downloaded?

Look in your log dir and see what the svclog says. The files disappear out of packages dir pretty quickly, I've never figured how to catch them when they arrive.
