View Full Version : better manual recording?

if this is already possible, please disregard my "idea"

how about a hack (like a tivoweb module maybe) that will let me make manual recordings with better control, like down to the minute, rather than only in 5-minute intervals? i record alot of shows back to back, and they all start about a minute before my tivo starts to record them. i can't just have them all start 2 min early, as that would keep the next show from recording. ideally i could manually set them to record from say, 8:58 to 9:58 etc etc. i can't imagine why it wouldn't be possible.

am i an *****? please enlighten me on the subject either way =]

I think what you want is called "padhack" from embeem. Do a search in the Tivo Community Underground forum for padhack.tcl and you'll find the thread, called "Negative padding".

This hack allows you to fine-tune your recording start and stop times e.g. "start 1 minute early" and "stop 1 minute late" etc. Very slick, very useful.

I think if you want to start the 2nd of a "back-to-back" program early, say by one minute, then you have to stop the 1st program early also. I have happily used the hack but have not specifically tried this though.

Note I think it is only for v3.0 SA Tivos, and not UK models. You'll want to read the thread.

Hi

Does anyone know if padhack.tcl works ov v4.01b-02 systems?

The threads imply it should work on v3 or greater, but I was wondering if it has been tested on v4 systems?

Thanks!
