HDVR2 and 30 second skip?

I had gotten a Replay Tv and a DTIVO HDVR2 @ christmas. But I returned the Replay 5040 and kept the DTivo HDVR2. I have searched the forum but with no luck. Is there a simple way for me to make the DTivo do the 30 second skip , eithout opening up the unit? I was told by a friend that he thought there was a way to do this through the remote. If so how can I do it is it a code I have to enter in the remote? Please respond ! Thanks Newbie Jerry

While playing a recording, press:
Select
Play
Select
3
0
Select
(you should hear 3 dings to let you know it's turned on)

Repeat the process to turn off 30 second skip. This will not work in live tv mode and it will need to be redone if you reboot the unit.
