I also have a two-hard-drive phillips DirecTIVO unit and would benefit from a single unit image.
Thanks!

does zapstream work properly for the dtivo? i may be able to help (i have a single drive dtivo), but it would really only be reasonable if zapstream works properly.

I think Zapstream will work Ok with a single drive. Will keep looking.

Has anyone been able to produce a backup yet? I would love to expand this unit...

I'm still looking for a backup, but I heard ZapTivo not ZapStream should work better, try it.

As soon as I can figure out how to get a good backup (I'm waiting for the Tiger Software). I can post a backup of a single Phillips 1 drive backup. I have the drives and am waiting on the software to expand the a: and add a b:

just as a heads up, i have made a successful backup of my 40 gig sat-t60 using the tiger tools. its about 150 megs, and it restored fine. i will post it for whoever wants to use it once tiger's tools are out of beta.
please place it on the back up ftp when out of beta ( or sooner-)
TIVO INSIDE link to backups (http://213.10.105.133/tivoinside/index.html)
28-08-2001: This link is updated. sorry I changed the ip of the server and didn't change it here: sorry.
to get the IP and stuff on the ftp read the "backup" thread in the other section (132 changed into 133!)
I'm sure some people would be happy.

Tiger's tools are out of beta. Would you post the 40 gig backup?
MfsTool 1.0 is posted in 9thTee.
Also, I can't get to the files section. Can someone help?

well, i would love to help you guys out at this point, but it would probably take about 3 days to dl the 140meg sony dtivo image from me. unfortunately, where i am now located, dling is lightning fast, but uploads are capped at 5K/s or less. argh!
anyway, i know there are a few people out there who i hooked up with my 2.0.1 image. if one of those people would like to help out, that would be great. otherwise, you guys will have to wait till thanksgiving for the image i have. =(

I haven't ever been able to figure out if the ftp has ever worked.
I must be doing something wrong as well.
I have a virgin and she would like to sing for you.
I'm just trying to figure out how to get her all dressed up and on stage.
Any ideas for a good agent?
.... Pretty criptic, Huh!

Has the FTP ever worked?
I can never get there, I must be a total MORON.
If there are clues to figure out, I am missing it.
Could someone send me the MORON instructions in a PM?
TIA

I have bothe the sony single drive and the phillips dual drive images that will restore to a single drive, They are both about 118 megs.
I backed them up using MFS tools to a freshley formatted dos HD.
I have restored the files and know they work.
But when I put the drive in my other system to be able to Upload them I had a major Crash. Just got this system back up.
The dos drive with the backups will no longer boot and if I use a dos boot disk I cant see the files.
But if I boot off the Tivo BootCD and mount the dos drive the files are there and I can restore from them.
How can I get them to My Dos machine?
So I can send them to you guys or put them on a FTP server.

Explain "major crash". Is this a Windoze Machine or pure DOS? Did the drive cause the problem? Did you try to boot to the command prompt (F8) and copy the image over and then remove the drive?

If you can't see the files under DOS are you sure that you are booting with the right version? Earlier versions of DOS can read FAT32 Partitions. If you on a Windows machine, create a startup disk under MyComputer and boot off it.
PM me if you like and I will walk you through it.

Didn't read this thread for a while, Im kind of busy the last weeks.
Please note the changes in the IP of the FTP.
I hope to receive some small backups FAST, this would speed up the downloading a lot. the FTP is pretty busy. it's running 24 hours a day on full capacity.
I would love to receive some backups of hacked machines ( included the hacks in the backup.) Please do not forget to send a textfile along with the back up that explains how the backup was made and how to restore. (version of sofware, minium discspace etc.)
happy hacking all
